Why depart from Istanbul?
Istanbul Airport is Turkish Airlines' hub — one of the largest carrier networks in the world, with connections to cities that no other European airline serves directly.
FareEngine scans European departure airports in real time specifically because fares from gateway hubs frequently undercut the equivalent Heathrow price by hundreds of pounds. The positioning flight — a short hop in economy — costs a fraction of the saving, and for many UK travellers it adds no more than an hour to the overall door-to-door journey time.
